This is a list of my favorite albums. You know the type. The type of album that you could listen to for five straight days or go five years without listening to (not that you would) and still know every word. You play it full blast in your car with the windows rolled down.
I tried so hard to get this list down to five albums but just couldn't. That would like be taking away a part of me. This list was impossibly long and I got rid of a lot of good albums. I missed a lot of genres and subgenres on this list but this list is me.
8. "Fashion Nugget" - CAKE
CAKE is the band that every teenage band dreams to become. Sometimes I try to imagine how such an amazing band even exists. This album is 19 years old but sounds like it could have been released last week. That good. There's something about CAKE that literally no other band has. They take advantage of all the different instruments the world has to offer us and their use of those instruments create such a unique sound that is always in my head.
7. "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" - Kanye West
If you've talked to me for more than fifteen minutes you probably know that I have a slight obsession with Kanye and his music. I am a relatively new Kanye fan thanks to Seth Rogen and James Franco's parody of "Bound 2" and ever since then you can probably find me rapping Kanye or inserting an obscure lyric into daily conversation. This album is a MASTERPIECE. Calling it anything less would be an insult to humanity. Kanye is more than a rapper and he knows that and proves that to us on this album.
6. "Disgraceland" - The Orwells

| The Orwells performed in Allston, MA at Brighton Music Hall in October 2014. |
This is one that even surprised me that made the cut. I am also a relatively new Orwells fan. I've seen them twice in concert, met each band member and I want to marry the drummer so maybe the fact that they're on this list isn't that surprising. This album weirdly reminds me of high school and I never even listened to The Orwells until the second semester of my freshman year of college. This album makes me weirdly nostalgic and the lyrics on this album are simple yet clever.
5. "Is This It?" - The Strokes
4. "Wish You Were Here" - Pink Floyd
I can easily thank Pink Floyd and Roger Waters for teaching me what a concept album is. I always find myself listening to an album thinking "I wonder if this is a concept album?" and "why isn't this is a concept album?" There are few Pink Floyd albums that aren't concept albums and it's because a concept album is a story that simply needs a music companion. (Note: At least four albums on this list are concept albums.)

| And they way they made this album cover is really cool because they literally set a man on fire. |
3. "Lungs" - Florence + the Machine
I aspire everyday to be Florence Welch. Her music makes me want to dress up like Stevie Nicks and dance around a field while wearing a floppy hat. Florence's debut album is one that can take me back exactly to the first day I listened to it. I remember the excitement of buying her second album and analyzing lyrics like I did with her first album. This album will forever and always be on the list of favorite albums.

2. "Born to Die" - Lana Del Rey
Would this list even be complete without the queen herself? The answer is no. I debated long and hard on which Lana album I would be putting on this list but then I realized quickly that it had to be "Born to Die" for obvious reasons. The album that made me love Lana. The lyrics on this album haunt me everyday and I often find myself listening to this album for weeks on end.
MY FAVORITE ALBUM EVER. THE KILLERS ARE EVERYTHING. The Killers are the band that made me love music. I didn't know bands like this existed and then The Killers show up out of nowhere into my life. It's a beautiful love story The Killers and I share. I can't really explain why this is my favorite album but I'll just let the music do the talking.
