Stop what you're doing and watch "It's Always Sunny"

Do you remember the one with the rum ham? The one where they taught us how to play Chardee MacDennis? Kitten mittens? Nightman Cometh? Flipadelphia? Wade Boggs? The underage bar? The pro-life rally?

There are so many episodes of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," I'm sure nearly every topic and offensive thing has already been said on the show. I've laughed out loud so much as this show that I've had to stifle my laughter when anyone was around. A roommate I had demanded to know what I was watching because my laughter was making her laugh too. That good.

The show is about four friends (and a crazy dad) running an Irish bar in Philadelphia called Paddy's Pub. What could go wrong? Seems normal. Absolutely not. Far from it. The characters are selfish, stupid, clueless slackers. Everything I would normally hate in a person but on the show it's so much better. The show boldly attacks taboo topics and is extremely self aware. Although terribly raunchy and hilarious this show is also heartwarming and charming. The show is 11 seasons deep and there's no turning back now.

This show has everything. Romance, comedy, political issues, some more dark comedy. Dark comedy is slowly turning into my favorite form of comedy and entertainment. Dark comedy is referred to as comedy that makes fun of a subject that is usually considered taboo. And that pretty much sums up "It's Always Sunny." Charlie (Charlie Day) is illiterate and also "survived" an abortion. Frank (Danny DeVito) seems to be Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and Dee's (Kaitlin Olson) father but is actually only Charlie's. The show has also hinted at Frank running sweatshops in Asia. Charlie's mom has faked cancer for money. Dennis and Dee accidentally got addicted to heroin and tried to apply for welfare. Mac (Rob McElhenney) banged Dennis and Dee's mom (and used the terminology banged) to get back at Dennis. And altogether, they exploited a miracle.

The show has running gags and storylines it has been committed to since the first season and that makes it even better. It's the type of show you can pick up anywhere but it's so much better if you just binge-watch everything from the start. They are known as "the gang" and are just a bunch of alcoholic, middle-aged weirdos from Philadelphia with no ambition in life. They would kill each other if they were offered up enough money. There are no life lessons to be learned on "It's Always Sunny" and no one is trying to teach me anything and I love it.
