| Fenway is beautiful. |
If that song does not remind you of a Red Sox home game at the legendary Fenway Park then I pity you.
I went to my first baseball game ever on April 14 and I am so glad that it was a Red Sox game at Fenway. There is a certain dedication from Red Sox fans that I absolutely love. They have just been through a lot and the fact that people still find their way to Fenway to watch a sometime-great sometimes-terrible group of overpaid athletes is respectable and admirable.
I don't follow sports and definitely don't follow a specific sports team but after going to my first game, the Red Sox might have a new fan. I have been past Fenway a million and a half times. House of Blues Boston is right across the street from Fenway and I find myself at more concerts than school usually so Fenway has been a familiar sight for me since I started going to concerts at HOB in my freshman year of college.
Walking into Fenway Park was surreal. I felt like I was in a different universe. Sitting up in one of the highest seats Fenway has to offer you can't see much of the skyline and the view of Boston is not much to offer. But Fenway has its own sights. Between the iconic Budweiser sign and the Green Monster, Fenway is its own destination spot within the city of Boston.
My first baseball game and my first time at Fenway was one of the best times I have had in Boston. I felt like a true Bostonian cheering on Dustin Pedroia (who I nicknamed Dusty) when he got the only homerun of the game and booing the Washington Nationals whenever they got David Ortiz out (which was twice). Fenway has the most amazing traditions between singing Sweet Caroline in the middle of the eighth inning to the greasy Fenway Franks and other overpriced junk food.

As a huge fan of the 2005 film "Fever Pitch," I feel like going to a Red Sox game is some sort of Boston rite of passage. I really haven't been going to college in the area for almost two years. The film made me want to go to Fenway more than any other Boston destination. Dreams come true at Fenway.
