Meet the rally girls

With the rally girls (or just proving that I went to a sporting event?) at a home game on March 31.
Correction: in my last blog post I said there were no hardcore followers of Lasell men's volleyball and no one would celebrate their GNAC win. I regret the error.

World, meet Samantha and Leanne. The two girls study fashion communications, journalism and Lasell men's volleyball.

The two girls call themselves the "rally girls" (a term from NBC's "Friday Night Lights"but can also be described as groupies. Groupies. Samantha and Leanne live, breathe, eat and sleep men's volleyball. They somehow even got me interested in men's volleyball and I went to a handful of games this season (where it was more likely I was taking selfies than watching the game).

The two fans have been to every home game for the season, except two, where work and volunteering annoyingly got in the way, and even found themselves traveling to Nashua, New Hampshire for the final game of the season on April 11 to see who would be crowned GNAC champ of men's volleyball.

The girls party with the volleyball boys, they go out to breakfast with the volleyball boys and overall have made themselves into honorary members of the volleyball team.

Volleyball won the GNAC Championship of the 2014-15 academic year and the team will go to the NCAA Championship in Manhattan. This is their first GNAC win.

The girls had complete faith that the squad would take the title while other spectators were not so sure Lasell would win. The opposing team had won nine out of the last ten GNAC titles that came their way. After their win, celebration certainly followed.

The rally girls will unfortunately not be taking the journey to New York.
